Good News, Music Fans: The Hi-Tone Reopens Next Week

When the Hi-Tone Cafe announced that it was closing in December, Memphis music fans weren't quite sure what effect it would have on the local scene. As it turns out, we probably shouldn't have worried so much, since the Hi Tone is reopening in their brand new space next week.

The new Hi-Tone Cafe, Memphis, Tenn.

The new space is on Cleveland, in the strip of storefronts right next to the Jehovah's Witnesses temple. They've got two storefronts, so they've got enough space for a lounge, a small room for intimate shows, and a big room for larger shows. And good news - the layout isn't nearly as awkward as it was in the old building. Here's a sneak peak of the new space.

The very first show in the new building is going to be a good one: Titus Andronicus with the So So Glos on Monday, May 6th. Doors open at 7 p.m. (early!) and cover is $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
