365 Memphians - Cherryl Pigues Crite

Most days, Cherryl Pigues Crite works in IT support. But on game day, you'll find her bringing her excess of sass to the basketball court with the Grizzlies Grannies and Grandpas dance team. When she's not working or dancing, she's involved with the Hustle Festival, Advance Memphis and her bowling league.

In other news:

- Madison Ave. (at least the portion that runs through Midtown) is being repaved. I'm not sure if this is going to include the much-discussed bike lanes or not, but I'm hoping so (as are 80 percent of the people who've responded to this CA poll).

- In basketball news, the NBA owners have decided to delay the start of the season two weeks (it was supposed to start on Nov. 1). In the meantime, though, Memphis Madness is on Friday, and Will Barton was voted to C-USA's first team.

- Are you a member of the Stax museum? Good. If you're not, now's a good chance to sign up. The soul music museum is looking for new members. If you sign up, you'll get admission to the museum for the year, discounts in the gift shop, guest passes and a special membership gift.

- The Ronald McDonald House is looking to honor someone between the ages of 6 and 18 who has been exemplary in their support for the House with their Give a Hand award. Nominations are due by Oct. 24, and can be printed and filled out Give A Hand Award Form.
