Until today, I thought Pearl’s Oyster House on South Main was a chain restaurant, just one of many of Pearl’s oyster houses. I was wrong – Pearl’s is just one of those local Memphis restaurants that looks like a chain. (For some reason, a lot of restaurants in Memphis are like this – they’re locally owned and operated but have that big chain feel.)
Pearl’s has a $7.99 express lunch menu that has the specials listed by day, but apparently, you can order any of them on any day. I had the Thursday crab cake special with rice pilaf and cooked vegetables.
The full menu is also available at lunch, so if you have a mid-day oyster craving, you can take care of it.
Pearl’s wasn’t super crowded when I went in around 12:45, but the place is huge, so you shouldn’t have a problem getting a table. There’s free parking on the street or in the lot immediately behind the restaurant.
